The main reason for the change in the code was the concern for public heath.

The code was first in 1899 and was amended in 2008.

The 2008 code read;

The purpose and intent of this article is to prohibit the feeding of unconfined wildlife in any public park or on any other property owned or operated by the City of North Wildwood, and to prohibit the feeding of feral cats on any property, public or private, so as to protect public health, safety and welfare and to prescribe penalties for failure to comply.”

A second reading of the amendment and the adoption meeting will be held on August 7th.
