New For Wildwood 2017

In the past few weeks there have been so many announcements on what is new in the Wildwoods. We decided to put all the announcements and rumors into one simple article!

Amusements

The Great Nor’Easter has gotten a complete overhaul. Over the winter the entire track was taken down and replaced with new track! Check out the video we filmed while under construction. (CLICK HERE FOR THE VIDEO). We have been told that the track is going to be repurposed some how. We are interested to see where it will wind up!

 

Restaurants

We some great new places coming to Wildwood this summer!

1. Fractured Prune Doughnut Shop 

  The Fractured Prune Doughnut Shop is a Ocean City, Maryland franchise making their way to our boardwalk. They will be located at 2006 Boardwalk.. What makes Fractured Prune so special is how fresh their donuts are. They make them right in front of you and they look and taste amazing!! Also, they are currently hiring. 2. Bannon’s Ocean Cafe

Located at 333 E. Montgomery Avenue, across from The Wildwoods Convention Center, Bannon’s Ocean Cafe offers great breakfast or lunch options. The owners, Dave and Liz Bannon also run Saratoga Grill located in Wildwood Crest.

 

3. Purple Jalapeño CLOSES

It’s sad to report that the Purple Jalapeño, located at 4020 Ocean Avenue in Wildwood will not be opening this year. It’s sad to see it closed but there is good news out of this! Wild Burrito, which was located in Wildwood Crest, will be moving their operations to this location!

We will post photos when they start to renovate.

 

 

4. Green Eggs Cafe

Keenan’s Irish Pub is bring something new and exciting to North Wildwood, Green Eggs Cafe. The two will be sharing the location at Keenan’s (113 Olde New Jersey Avenue) address. They will be serving food from 8am – 4pm.

 

 

5 . The Shack

Located at the Grassy Sound Marina, The Shack will be a fantastic place to not only get fresh seafood but also enjoy the back bays of North Wildwood. Currently it is still under construction.  

 

 

Motels

1. Howard Johnson is coming

The Kings Inn, which is located at 423 E 23rd Ave, is getting a completely new make over as it converts into a Howard Johnson motel! We are hoping to get some photos and videos of the progress of the update in the next few weeks.

 

 

 

2. White Caps Motel

As your know, last summer we “Hotel Impossible” visit the White Caps Motel. The episode of Hotel Impossible, titled, “Jersey Shore Uproar,” aired on November 28th at 10pm on the Travel Channel. If you missed it, don’t worry, we have the whole show right here. (Click Here to Watch The Episode). 

 The White Caps Motel is still under going renovations. We will do another recap on the progress in a few weeks.

 

 

Events

1. Murder Mystery Weekend – On the weekend of May 19 & 20, join the pack as we try to try to solve the case of “Who Killed Peggy Sue at the Hop?”

2. Movies on the Beach – Movies on the beach will be held July 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th and August 4th, 11th, and 18th. They will be shown on the beach behind the Wildwoods sign.

3. The Sandy Paws Dog Festival/ Dog Adoption Day – This will be a weekend dedicated to our four legged friends!  From Doggie Olympics, the Dog Fashion Show and a Doggie Talent Show, this weekend will surely be packed with fun! A date isn’t listed for this event yet.

 

Other

1. Cape Regional Urgent Care is opening a location at the old Pizza Hut. (406 W Rio Grande Ave)

2. The former Triangle/Nino’s restaurant will be demolished this spring. The building has sent empty for many years.

 

3. Mcdonalds in North Wildwood will not be opening. It closed it’s doors for good and all the signage has been taken down.

4. Byrne Plaza is coming! – Coming summer 2017 a new park will be built named “Byrne Plaza.” The park will feature a concert shell for performances and plenty of space for events such as the Downtown Market. Read the Article and check out the video (Click Here For The Video and The Article)
