North Wildwood Legend Passes

We are sad to announce that North Wildwood lost a legend. Lou Bishop passed today at the young age of ninety eight (98).

You may not know his name but you may know what he started. In 1917 Lou and his family started the Anglesea Pub, known back then as “Bishop’s Highsteps Bar,” and ran it until 1982.

Lou was born in Anglesea and attended Wildwood High School Class of 1940. He was a decorated veteran who serviced during World War II in the U.S. Army Combat Infantry.

We give our condolences to Peggy Bishop, who is a North Wildwood 1st Ward Councilwoman.
