Small Plane Crash At Cape May Airport

The Lower Township Police received a report of a plane crash at approximately 3:31 PM on Saturday November 10th within the Cape May County Airport. The Villas Fire department were called and stations 60 and 62 were dispatched.

The plane crashed shortly after takeoff. The pilot was able to land in the brush just off the runway.

Upon police and fireman arrival the pilot was out of the single engine aircraft with very minor injuries.  

The Federal Aviation Administration was notified and responded to the scene and will be conducting the investigation.  No additional details are available at this time, but will be released at a later date.
