For those who love to run we have a great running event for you. The city of Wildwood Crest will host its annual 5K Beach Race on Saturday, August 8th at 8:30 a.m.

The race will take place on a course near the water’s edge at low tide and will begin and end at the Wildwood Crest Beach Pier at Heather Road. The Wildwood Crest 5K Beach Race also includes an untimed one-mile fun run/walk.

You can registrar on race-day from 7a.m. through 8:15a.m. at the Crest Pier Recreation Center.

If you already pre-registered, you can pick up your race packet at the Crest Pier Recreation Center on Friday, August 7 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Registration fee is $30 for the 5K run and $25 for the one-mile run/walk.

Prizes will be awarded for this event. The prizes are in different age groups. The prizes will be given to the top three male and females finishers as well as the top male and female finishers in a variety of age groups.

For those who registered (In person or online) there will be refreshments served following the Wildwood Crest 5K Beach Race. All registered participants will be able to win different kinds of door prizes.

For those who love to see our lifeguards compete, the Wildwood Crest 5K Beach Race will also include a team competition among the beach patrols from Wildwood Crest, Wildwood and North Wildwood.

Make sure you check out the weather leading up to the race because the Wildwood Crest 5K Beach Race is a rain or shine event.  If lighting is in the forecast place check the Wildwood Crest website for cancellation.
