Wildwood’s Tiki Bar “The Point” is Now Open! – FIRST LOOK
Wildwood, New Jersey, welcomed an exciting new destination this weekend with the grand opening of The Point, a vibrant Tiki Bar located at 3710 Ocean Ave, right at the corner of Garfield and Ocean Ave.
This new hotspot promises to deliver an unparalleled tropical experience, making it a perfect getaway within the city.
For the past few months, the Wildwood Video Archive has been documenting the demolition and construction of The Point Tiki Bar Wildwood.
It all started back in October when GMH Restaurant Holdings IV, LLC, submitted an application to the Planning/Zoning Board of the City of Wildwood, New Jersey, to bring a Tiki Bar to the island under the name “The Point.”
The Point is a name that should be familiar to guests since they have two other locations, one in Sea Isle City and one in Somers Point.
To make this new location happen, GMH had to demolish the existing motel that occupied the land.
The Ocean Sands Motel had called this land home for the past 60 years, but with the changing needs on the island, it was demolished.
While some were upset to see the motel go, many were excited to see a new bar open up.
This section of Wildwood has seen a lot of transformation, with the new Honky Tonk Saloon opening just across the street. Additionally, the boardwalk in front of it was replaced, and down the street, The Vibes Hotel is set to open shortly.
This weekend, our friends over at 42Freeway.com stopped by to get a first look at the new The Point Tiki Bar.
The Point stands out with its eclectic menu featuring a range of tropical cuisine designed to tantalize your taste buds. Their menu is very different from typical bar food.
They offer meals such as Crispy Shrimp and Mango, Vegetable Pot Stickers, Seared Chilled Tuna, Polynesian Chicken Skewers, Shrimp Cocktails, Taco Boxes, Pulled Pork, Grilled Florida Mahi Mahi, Seared Sushi Tuna, and much more.

Along with the Caribbean-style menu, guests can enjoy a unique selection of frozen and specialty cocktails.
Frozen drinks, listed as frozen madness, include all the regulars such as Colada Breeze, Frozen Daiquiri, and Margarita Chill, but also new favorites like Sneaky Monkey and Frozen Chocolate Espresso.
In addition, they have crushers (orange, blueberry, and mango), mules, beach chillers, beer, and wines by the glass.
These drinks are crafted to provide a refreshing escape, whether you’re enjoying a sunny afternoon or a lively evening out.
Entertainment is a cornerstone of The Point’s appeal, with daily performances that are sure to keep the energy high and the atmosphere lively.
There is a stage on the east side of the property which hosts not only DJs but also live bands.
While the food and drinks will draw you in, it’s the atmosphere that will make you want to stay all day and night.
It’s more than just a bar; they trucked in sand, added palm trees, and decorated with tikis all around.
Inside, you don’t feel like you are in Wildwood anymore but instead feel like you were transported to the islands.
Operating hours vary depending on the day. From Sunday to Thursday, The Point is open from 2 PM to midnight. On Fridays and Saturdays, the party extends from 12 PM to 2 AM, allowing for even more time to soak in the tropical vibes.
To ensure a pleasant experience, a gate fee of $5 per person is applied from 5 PM to 1 AM. Yes, this means there is a gate fee after 5 PM daily, though this past weekend there didn’t seem to be one, presumably because it was opening weekend.
The Point also maintains a family-friendly approach during the earlier hours, with minors allowed entry.
However, to keep the atmosphere suitable for all guests, those under 21 must exit by 10 PM from Monday to Thursday and by 9 PM on Fridays and Sundays.
With its prime location, vibrant atmosphere, and unique offerings, The Point is poised to become a must-visit destination in Wildwood.
