Wildwoods Construction Update – November 2025
Now that the summer crowds have gone home and the off-season is officially here, construction crews have returned in full force.
Some projects we’ve been following for months are finally making visible progress, while new developments are just getting started.
Let’s take a tour around the island and see what’s happening this November.

Wild Resort Construction Begins
The biggest headline this month comes from the Boardwalk, where construction has officially begun on the highly anticipated Wild Resort, a new six-story luxury hotel rising at 3000 Boardwalk the former home of the long-vacant Boardwalk Mall.
This 77,000-square-foot resort will feature 75 rooms, a rooftop pool and bar, and retail space on the ground level, including familiar names like Starbucks, It’s Sugar, and Little Angelo’s Pizza.

Crews have already removed the top floor of the existing structure, reinforced the steel beams, and begun adding two entirely new levels.
The developers are aiming for an early summer 2026 opening, marking one of the most ambitious hotel projects Wildwood has seen in decades.
If this project goes well, we can maybe see other blocks do the same.

Up in North Wildwood, the long-awaited Boardwalk Reconstruction Project is officially underway.
After years of planning, funding approvals, and weather delays, crews are now replacing the aging wooden decking between 16th and 19th Avenues.
This multi-phase project has seen the entire section of the boardwalk demolished down to the sand.
This project is very different than the Wildwood one since their’s repairs to the concrete supports, while North Wildwood’s opted in to completely tear down.
Heavy equipment are currently on site, digging trenches for the new utilities.
Once this section is complete, the city plans to move northward in future phases until the entire North Wildwood Boardwalk is fully rebuilt.

Over at Morey’s Piers, work continues on the Giant Wheel renovation project, one of the largest ride refurbishments in the amusement park’s history.
The iconic Ferris Wheel, standing 156 feet tall and visible from nearly every point on the island, is receiving a full overhaul which involves removing the entire wheel to get to the hub. (the middle section where the bearings are)
The Hub will be transported over to the Philadelphia Navy yard where it will be renovated and installed back on the wheel.
The spokes of the wheel will be sandblasted on the beach and be reinstalled when the hub gets back.
As of November, crews have been removing the spokes, which should take about 10 more days.
When complete, the Giant Wheel will once again serve as the glowing centerpiece of Mariner’s Pier.

One of North Wildwood’s largest hotels, Montego Bay Resort, is also undergoing major improvements this offseason.
The first project focuses on the indoor pool complex, where crews are repairing and repainting the exterior facing Ocean Avenue and fully redoing the pool itself. The renovation includes sandblasting the surface, applying a Diamond Brite finish, and retiling the perimeter.
The second project involves the first-floor Family Suite Ocean View rooms. These one-bedroom, one-bathroom suites, which face south with a partial ocean view, are being completely gutted and renovated for the 2026 season.
These upgrades are part of Montego Bay’s long-term plan to modernize the resort while preserving its classic family-friendly feel.

Elsewhere around the island, several motel conversions continue to reshape the Wildwoods’ lodging landscape.
The Old Chateau Bleu Motel is being transformed into three single-family homes, while the Old Ivanhoe Motel is being replaced by five new houses. Together, these projects reflect a growing trend toward private vacation properties as older motels age out of operation.
Meanwhile, the VIP Motel is getting a refreshed lobby and guest reception area ahead of next summer, adding to the growing list of offseason improvements across the island.

With the summer crowds gone, construction crews are making the most of every dry day to get these projects moving before winter sets in.
From luxury resorts to renovated rides and upgraded motels, the Wildwoods are once again buzzing with off-season activity.
