Tom Cat Restaurant to Be Demolished

Tom Cat Restaurant to Be Demolished

We got some sad news coming out of Wildwood today. With no notice demolition crews made their way to 437 & 447 W. Rio Grande Ave in Wildwood and started ripping down the lots. Those lots housed a mini-golf course and the Tom Cat Restaurant.

There is a background story behind this I wanted to share. Up until today we had no idea that this demolition was going to take place and neither did anyone else. It turned out that the demolition crew never filed permits.

Due to this the inspector came by and made them stop. At the moment the Tom Cat Restaurant is still standing. The owner allowed the Wildwood Historical Society – George F. Boyer Museum to salvage neon signs, menus and more! Some of the Tom Cat will still live on!
