We may be weeks away from summer but this upcoming weekend is going to make you feel like it’s winter again.
According to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, parts of New Jersey and Pennsylvania will feel lows into the 30s as a polar vortex makes it’s way to the North-East.
A polar vortex is a whirlwind of frigid air that normally circulates around the Arctic Circle. A few times a year it moves down into the U.S. This past winter the vortex stayed put.
From Friday night through Sunday we will be feeling the effects of this polar vortex. Philadelphia will have a low of 36 degrees and have winds gusts as high as 35 mph. There will also be some rain in the area on Friday night.
The states northern of us will be experience some snow.
