Nor’Easter Hits New Jersey

Nor’Easter Hits New Jersey

Today is a bad day to be out on the road as the first Nor’Easter of the season is roaring into our tristate.

This nor’easter will bring severe thunderstorms, damaging winds, and heavy rain totals.

Yesterday the governors of New Jersey and New York have issued a state of emergency. This would free up money to help with the recovery after the storm hits.

Let’s break down what we know according to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly.

The storm is to bring 2-3 inches of rain in Wildwood, 3-4 inches of rain in Philadelphia with Asbury Park seeing the largest totals at 4-6 inches.

With rain amounts this large, some flash flooding is possible. This will likely occur through Tuesday afternoon.

Tonight some areas such as coastal New Jersey will see wind gusts up to 45 miles per hour. The coast will also see minor tidal flooding through Wednesday night.

The coastal waters of New Jersey and Delaware, and Delaware Bay could see swells as high as 10 feet through Wednesday morning.

Tune back later for more updates.
