Splash House Is Coming to the Boardwalk Mall

Splash House Is Coming to the Boardwalk Mall

The iconic Wildwood Boardwalk Mall is undergoing a remarkable transformation following its recent change in ownership. In a flurry of activity over the past few weeks, the once-familiar arcade games were auctioned off, the interior was stripped down to its bare bones, and the exterior received a fresh coat of navy blue paint.

Speculation about the mall’s future has been hidden but today, the excitement reaches new heights as the first tenant is unveiled—welcome Splash House to the vibrant community of the Wildwoods.

Splash House offers a distinctive painting experience that transcends age barriers, providing patrons with an opportunity to unleash their creativity in a unique and entertaining setting.

Splash House first opened up in Virginia Beach in 2021 but will now call Wildwood home.

Armed with an eclectic assortment of tools, including sponges, water guns, and brushes, customers are invited to apply paint to canvas, fashioning their own one-of-a-kind masterpieces.

This innovative studio goes beyond conventional artistry, ensuring inclusivity by catering to individuals, offering special sessions for couples, and even hosting exclusive painting events tailored for children. The creative possibilities are limitless, and Splash House endeavors to be a haven for artistic expression for everyone.

So, how does it all work? Guests sign up for immersive one-hour sessions, during which they don disposable coveralls, bonnets, booties, and goggles (all available for purchase). The painting process, while guided, allows for personal interpretation and artistic freedom.

For those eager to embrace the messy side of creativity, wearing clothes or a bathing suit is encouraged—though bringing a towel is advisable for those not donning coveralls.

Once the artistic endeavor is complete, patrons have the option to purchase boxes to transport their still-wet canvases home. For those unable to take their creations with them, Splash House offers a convenient shipping service.

However, a word of caution: the paint remains wet for 24 hours, and while the studio graciously holds onto your masterpiece until the end of the next business day, any longer delay will result in the unfortunate disposal of the artwork.

Prices at Splash House vary based on session type. Regular sessions are priced at $39 per studio (accommodating 1-2 people), with an additional $10 for each extra participant in the studio.

Children aged 3 and under enjoy complimentary admission with a paying participant, making it a family-friendly affair.

Their website is currently live but not much has been uploaded on their site as of yet. It does state that they will be open in Spring 2024!
