Morey’s Piers Evacuated After Incident
The North Wildwood Police Department swiftly responded to an incident at Morey’s Pier that has been widely circulated on social media.
The situation, which unfolded on Saturday evening, led to an increased police presence and the temporary evacuation of the popular amusement park.
While the city didn’t announce what the incident was, social media posts suggested that someone had brought a gun up on to the boardwalk.
Morey’s Piers took to social media to address the concern saying: “Tonight at at approximately 7:15 in cooperation with NWPD and WWPD we evacuated Surfside Pier as a precaution at the request of NWPD and WWPD due to an unknown incident which occurred on the beach and was unrelated to Moreys Piers.”
Authorities were quick to reassure the public, confirming that the incident has been resolved and there is no ongoing threat to public safety.
Details of the incident remain sparse, but officials emphasized the prompt action taken to ensure the safety of visitors.
The prompt resolution of the situation allowed for the swift reopening of Morey’s Pier, ensuring that the popular summer destination could continue operations with minimal disruption.
