Wildwood Shooting Details Released – Victim Critically Injured
The tranquility of Wildwood, New Jersey, was shattered on Tuesday night when gunfire erupted in the 3800 block of Pacific Avenue, (the corner near Cattle N Clover Bar) leaving an innocent bystander critically injured.
The victim, identified as a young woman and an international student, was off-duty at the time and has been described as an employee of Morey’s Piers by company officials.
“We are a family, and we are working to provide support to our employee and her family during this incredibly challenging time,” said Denise Beckson, VP of Human Resources at Morey’s Piers, in a heartfelt statement.
“The news has deeply affected all of us, and we are committed to doing everything in our power to assist her and her loved ones. Our hearts and prayers are with them.”
The shooting occurred around 10:30 p.m., prompting an immediate response from the Wildwood Police Department and the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office.
Despite identifying a suspect, authorities have refrained from disclosing further details, emphasizing the ongoing nature of the investigation and the need to ensure community safety.
“This incident is a stark reminder of the importance of vigilance and cooperation within our community,” stated Chief Joseph Murphy of the Wildwood Police Department. “We are actively pursuing all leads to apprehend the perpetrator responsible for this senseless act.”
The victim, transported to Atlantic Regional Medical Center in critical condition, underscores the severity of the incident.
While officials have not elaborated on the circumstances surrounding the shooting, residents and local businesses have expressed solidarity and concern for the victim and her loved ones.
