Sailing to Bermuda and Beyond

During the summer of 2026, Norwegian Jewel will offer seven-to-nine-day voyages to Bermuda, where guests can bask in the island’s turquoise waters and pink-sand beaches with overnight stays.

As the weather cools, from September 5 to October 7, 2026, the ship will embark on 10 and 11-day open-jaw voyages to Canada and New England, alternating homeports between Philadelphia and Quebec City.

These voyages will visit charming ports like Saguenay, Charlottetown, and Halifax in Canada, as well as popular destinations such as Bar Harbor, Maine, and Boston.

Economic Impact and Job Creation

The economic impact of this venture is substantial. PhilaPort anticipates that by 2028, the cruise industry could generate over 2,000 direct, indirect, and induced jobs, along with over $40 million in annual county and state tax revenue.

Governor Josh Shapiro emphasized the importance of this development, stating, “With the addition of Norwegian Cruise Line, millions will have another reason to visit Philadelphia’s waterfront, supporting local jobs and connecting people with the best of what Philadelphia and the Commonwealth has to offer.”

Enhancing Philadelphia’s Tourism

Philadelphia, the birthplace of America, is renowned for its rich history and cultural attractions.

With NCL’s operations, the city is poised to attract more tourists, benefiting various sectors, including hotels, restaurants, museums, historical sites, and transportation services.

David J. Herrera, president of Norwegian Cruise Line, expressed excitement about the partnership, highlighting the opportunity to offer guests from Philadelphia and surrounding areas a memorable vacation experience.

Now we are pleased to add tourism and cruises to our portfolio.”
