FIRST LOOK: Johnny Longhots Wildwood Location
It was only a few weeks ago that we announced something new was coming to the corner of Pine and Pacific Avenues in Wildwood, New Jersey. That something was a Jersey Shore location of Johnny Longhots.
Known for their mouth-watering specialty sandwiches, Johnny Longhots has built a reputation for serving high-quality ingredients and bold flavors that have made their other locations so popular.
You might recognize the name, as they already have locations in Voorhees, Deptford, Marlton, Hainesport-Lumberton, and, most recently, Sicklerville.
The name “Longhots” reflects a signature ingredient in many of their dishes—long hot peppers—which add a distinctive kick to their flavorful offerings.
After all those weeks of hard work in building out the location, Johnny Longhots is holding a soft opening today.
The Wildwood Video Archive was able to grab some photos of what visitors can expect from this exciting new addition to the local food scene.
Interior Filled with Philly Sports
The owners completely gutted the interior of the former Krispy Krunchy Chicken location and transformed it into a Philly sports lover’s heaven aka a man cave!
The walls are covered with everything Philly Sports. From hanging Eagles, Phillies, 76ers signs, to giant murals showcasing the LOVE sign and even Rocky Balboa himself.
Plus there are a few cleaver signs such as “keep clam and eat a longhot” and “made in the USA with Italian parts.”
But we weren’t there for the decor but rather the food. Johnny Longhots had become legendary with their creative sandwiches.
Specialty Sandwiches to Savor
Johnny Longhots is famous for its Philly cutlets, offering 28 different options available as either chicken or eggplant. Some of their notable sandwiches include:
- The Rocky: Cutlet topped with prosciutto, broccoli rabe, and sharp provolone.
- The Paisano: Cutlet topped with broccoli rabe, roasted peppers, and sharp provolone.
- The Inferno: Cutlet topped with pepper spread, long hots, and pepper jack.
Philly Jawns: A Crowd Favorite
Their “Philly Jawns” have also become a beloved choice. These meatball or sausage sandwiches can be filled with everything from vodka sauce to broccoli rabe, roasted peppers, long hots, and more.
Each sandwich is crafted with premium meats and cheeses, fresh vegetables, and a variety of condiments, all served on freshly baked rolls.
Unmatched Cheesesteaks
Their cheesesteaks are a major highlight. These feature thinly sliced rib-eye steak cooked to perfection, accompanied by melted cheese and optional toppings like fried onions, mushrooms, and, of course, long hot peppers.
Just looking at the photos I am sure that you want to stop by and grab one.
