Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey Sutherland and Wildwood Police Chief Joseph Murphy released a joint statement confirming that an investigation is underway to identify those promoting the event.

“We are fully aware of the risks that these unsanctioned ‘Pop-Up’ parties pose to public safety, including crowd control issues, the potential for violence, and the strain they place on our law enforcement resources,” said Prosecutor Sutherland. “We are actively working to identify the individuals behind the promotion of this event and will pursue every legal avenue to prevent it from taking place.”
Chief Murphy echoed these concerns, emphasizing the dangers these gatherings pose to residents, visitors, and law enforcement officers.

“We will not tolerate any illegal gatherings that disrupt the safety and well-being of the residents of Cape May County,” Murphy stated. “Wildwood has a 10:00 PM curfew for all juveniles, which is strictly enforced. Additionally, we now have the authority to pursue charges against legal guardians who allow their children to be out past curfew without supervision.”
Authorities are urging the public to report any information regarding the event or its organizers. Anonymous tips can be submitted to the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office or the Wildwood Police Department.
