When Do Fireworks Start In Wildwood For The Summer Season?

One of the most common questions we hear as soon as the weather starts warming up is, “When do the fireworks start in Wildwood?”

If you’ve ever walked the Boardwalk on a summer Friday night, chances are you’ve seen the sky light up around 10:00 PM—and yes, they’re back for 2025! (We say they are better than fireworks at the castle)

Wildwood’s Free Friday Night Fireworks return starting Friday, June 27th, and will run straight through August 29th.

They launch right from the beach at Pine Avenue, smack dab in the middle of the Boardwalk, and if you’re close to the speakers, you’ll get to hear them synchronized to music.

It’s one of those classic Wildwood experiences that locals and vacationers look forward to all year long.

Now if you’re wondering about the Fourth of July—yes, Wildwood pulls out all the stops. This year, July 4th lands on a Friday, so the holiday show will take the place of the regular Friday fireworks. Same time, 10:00 PM, same place—Pine Avenue beach—but with a bit of extra sparkle and patriotic flair. (the rain date is set for Saturday, July 5th.)

As far as where to watch from, you really can’t go wrong. The beach at Pine is always a solid choice, especially if you bring a towel or chair.

The Boardwalk between Oak and Spicer is another prime spot, and if you’re on a ride on Morey’s Piers when they go off, you’re in for an unforgettable view. Some lucky folks even get to catch the show from their motel balconies.

Realistically though, you can watch the fireworks from all over the island.

In case of bad weather on a regular Friday, the fireworks are usually pushed to Sunday night at the same time. It doesn’t happen often, but it’s always good to keep an eye on the sky if you’re planning your night around the show.

As yes, we wish we could do them on the Saturday after but usually the day after a rain-storm, the beach is too wet to be placing fireworks on them

The best way to enjoy a Friday night in Wildwood is to make a whole night of it. Grab dinner somewhere on the Boards, maybe hit the piers or check out a show, then wrap things up with fireworks on the beach. Doesn’t get much better than that.
