The Beach Football League Is Coming to Wildwood

Get ready for a football-filled weekend like no other as the Beach Football League (BFL) brings its Summer Tour to the Jersey Shore with open tryouts and celebrity-packed events, all taking place on the beach at Schellenger Avenue in Wildwood.

The Wildwood Classic Open Tryouts will take over the sand on Saturday and Sunday, June 7–8, starting at 9:00 a.m. each day.

The BFL is calling all athletes — whether you’re a former college standout, a retired NFL player, or just someone who knows they’ve got what it takes — to prove their skills in front of a panel of NFL legends.

If you’re 18 or older, graduated high school in 2024 or earlier, not under contract with another professional league, and not currently on a college team, this is your shot to hit the beach and show what you’ve got.

And this isn’t just a skills camp — players who impress will be selected to compete in a Beach Football League exhibition game later that day, led by none other than Desean Jackson (Eagles legend) and Clinton Portis (Broncos and Redskins) as team captains. These two NFL greats will draft their own squads, featuring other stars, to battle it out right on the Wildwood sand in front of fans.

Free to Watch – Family Friendly Fun

Spectators get in free, and the event promises a beach party atmosphere complete with meet-and-greet opportunities with all the NFL legends and surprise celebrity guests. It’s a chance for fans to get up close with their football heroes and enjoy an unforgettable weekend in the Wildwoods.

Not Just for the Adults – Youth Camps and Tournaments

Kids get to join the action too with the Kids Zone Youth Camp, open to ages 8–17, and a Youth Tournament for high school players. The camp gives young athletes a rare chance to learn from the pros — former and current NFL players and coaches will be on hand offering top-tier instruction.

Registration is $50 per child, but here’s the kicker: it also includes a 4-Day Pass to Morey’s Piers plus a 2-Day Water Park Pass — a pretty awesome deal for families planning a weekend at the shore.

Friday, June 6: The inaugural Wildwood Classic Golf Invitational at Morey’s Big Little 9 Par 3 Course, benefiting the J Foundation, Eagles Autism Foundation, and the Appendix Cancer Research Foundation.
