M.S. Brown Jewelers Celebrates 75 Years as New Jersey’s Oldest Jewelry Store
We’ve seen storefronts coming and going, entire blocks transforming but one family business has stood the test of time.
M.S. Brown Jewelers, which proudly claims to be New Jersey’s oldest jewelry store, just hit the major milestone of 75 years in business.

The shop was founded by Milton and Sylvia Brown, who moved to Wildwood from Philly after World War II. Milton was a war hero with a passion for watches and jewelry, and together they built what would become a cornerstone of the downtown Wildwood business district.
Today, the store is run by their son Michael Brown, a master horologist (aka watchmaker), and his daughter Jessica Brown-Schwakoff, a gemologist who brings a modern flair to the family trade.

Together, they’ve blended old-school craftsmanship with high-tech upgrades, like laser cutters for repairs and computerized engraving for trophies, awards, and keepsakes.
Some may not know this, but M.S. Brown Jewelers has an incredible selection of Wildwood-themed charms—a hidden gem for longtime visitors and collectors alike.
We’re talking about tiny Wildwood Tramcars, a Ferris wheel, a seagull with a french fry in its beak, and other iconic shore symbols, all crafted with detail and care.
(Full disclosure: I’ve picked up a few for my wife over the years, they’re that good.)

So next time you’re walking downtown, take a step into M.S. Brown Jewelers. Whether you’re shopping for something new or just want to peek at a piece of local history, this family-run shop continues to shine.
Congratulations to the Browns on 75 amazing years! Here’s to the next chapter in Wildwood’s legacy.
