Massive New Bar & Restaurant Coming to North Wildwood
Olde New Jersey Avenue in North Wildwood has gone through a massive transformation over the past few years. From new construction to refreshed nightlife concepts, the entire street has been steadily evolving.
Now it appears the next major change is already in motion.

Massive New Bar & Restaurant Coming to North Wildwood
A new application was recently submitted to the North Wildwood Planning Board seeking permission to demolish two existing structures and replace them with a brand new bar and restaurant featuring an outdoor patio.
The proposal covers 100 and 108 East Walnut Avenue, directly off Olde New Jersey Avenue. If you know your bars down here, you know that 100 East Walnut Avenue is currently home to Exit 6, also known as Exit6ix.

The owners have applied for both Preliminary and Final Major Site Plan approval along with several variances. The plan calls for:
• Demolishing all existing buildings on the two lots
• Constructing an all new bar and restaurant
• Adding a large outdoor patio area
• Operating entirely within the Dining and Entertainment zone

The First Floor Plan
The ground level centers around a massive open air courtyard. Two separate outdoor bars with approximately fifteen seats each will frame the space. A large performance stage will sit in the middle, creating a venue for live music and entertainment.
The plans also show:
• Staff and service spaces including a kitchen, beer box, and trash facilities
• A large interior bar toward the rear of the property
• A layout designed to allow guests to enter the courtyard from multiple access points
• The demolition of the home directly behind the current bar to extend the footprint of the project
Altogether, the first floor serves as a year round entertainment hub with both outdoor and indoor components.

The top level is dedicated to a completely new restaurant experience. The plans include:
• A covered outdoor dining area with seating for roughly seventy guests
• A full indoor dining room with seating for approximately one hundred forty six guests
• A smaller upstairs bar
• A kitchen and storage area behind the dining rooms
This elevated space is positioned to capture sunrise views over Olde New Jersey Avenue. While the final menu has not been announced, the orientation of the building makes morning service a possibility.

For longtime visitors, the building may still be best remembered as Echo, a place many locals recall as the site of their first Wildwood weekend out.
In recent years, it operated as Exit 6. The new plans appear to keep that name for now, though branding could change as construction moves forward.
At this moment, we do not have a date for when work will begin or when the project will be completed. We reached out to the owners and have not heard back.
What can be seen, though, is that all utilities to the building have already been severed. The power to the boxes has been disconnected and the meters have been removed. This is usually the first step before demolition begins.
