This Weekend in the Wildwoods, May 29th to May 31st
Last weekend’s Memorial Day weekend may have been a washout for many visitors, but this weekend is shaping up to be a much different story.
While summer doesn’t officially begin for a few more weeks, the Wildwoods are set to get a nice taste of the season with temperatures expected to hover in the upper 60s and low 70s. It may not be the classic hot beach weather many dream about, but it should be perfect for strolling the boardwalk, enjoying the beach in a light sweater, and getting back outside after last weekend’s rain.
If you’re planning a trip to the Wildwoods this weekend, here is a look at some of the events taking place across the island.

This Weekend in the Wildwoods May 29th to May 31st
North Wildwood City-Wide Yard Sale
Treasure hunters will have plenty of opportunities to score some great finds during North Wildwood’s annual City-Wide Yard Sale on Saturday, May 30.
The sale begins at 9 a.m., with participating homeowners throughout the city opening their yards and garages to shoppers. A list of participating addresses and items for sale will be posted on the City of North Wildwood’s website and Facebook page before the event.

The market runs from 8 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Byrne Plaza, located at 3400 Pacific Avenue, and across the street at 3501 Pacific Avenue.
More than 70 vendors are expected to participate, offering everything from fresh produce and baked goods to homemade pickles, local honey, coffee, breakfast sandwiches, craft beverages, handmade jewelry, candles, soaps, apparel, and much more.

Anglesea Open Pickleball Tournament
Pickleball enthusiasts from across the region will gather in North Wildwood for the 4th Annual Anglesea Open Pickleball Tournament on May 30 and 31.
Held at Allen Park, the tournament features men’s, women’s, and mixed doubles divisions for players ranging from beginner to advanced skill levels. Participants will compete in a round-robin format with playoff rounds, guaranteeing multiple matches throughout the weekend.
The event serves as a fundraiser for the charitable efforts of the Anglesea Irish Society.

Veterans of Foreign Wars and Auxiliary Convention
The Wildwoods Convention Center is hosting the annual Veterans of Foreign Wars and Auxiliary Convention through May 30.
The convention brings VFW members and auxiliary representatives from across New Jersey together for meetings, ceremonies, and organizational activities throughout the week.
Morey’s Piers Spring Beach Jam
One of the more unique sights you’ll see this weekend is Morey’s Piers Spring Beach Jam.
The event brings scouting groups from around the country to Wildwood, where participants camp directly on the beach between Schellenger Avenue and Spencer Avenue. The weekend combines camping, activities, and plenty of time enjoying the Wildwoods.
This year’s May Beach Jam will be the only Beach Jam event hosted by Morey’s Piers during 2026.

Hoop Island Basketball Tournament
Basketball players from across the Northeast are also making their way to Wildwood this weekend for Hoop Island USA, presented by Buckets By The Boardwalk.
Known as one of the Jersey Shore’s premier youth basketball tournaments, the event attracts highly competitive teams from throughout the region. Games will be played inside the Wildwoods Convention Center and nearby facilities, all located just steps from the beach and boardwalk.
The tournament creates a busy and energetic atmosphere throughout the weekend as players, coaches, and families fill local hotels, restaurants, and attractions.

A Busy Weekend Ahead
Between sporting events, outdoor markets, beach camping, yard sales, and convention activities, there will be plenty happening throughout the Wildwoods this weekend.
With comfortable temperatures, improving weather, and the summer season beginning to come alive, it’s shaping up to be a great opportunity to get outside and enjoy everything the island has to offer.
