A major piece of South Jersey amusement park history is once again facing an uncertain future.
Clementon Park & Splash World announced Wednesday that it will close following the conclusion of its 2026 season and that the property will be offered for sale.

The announcement came directly from the park after what its owners described as “five memorable years.”
“As we close out our 2026 season, we want to sincerely thank our guests, Season Passholders, team members and community for being part of another summer at Clementon Park & Splash World,” the park wrote.
But the message quickly turned into one that South Jersey amusement park fans certainly did not want to hear.
“After five memorable years, we are saddened to announce that we have made the difficult decision to close the park and plan to offer the park for sale.”
For those who know Clementon Park’s history, this is a major announcement.
The amusement park dates all the way back to 1907, making it one of the oldest amusement parks in the United States. Generations of South Jersey families grew up visiting the park, which eventually expanded to include Splash World water park.
Its signature attraction, the Hellcat wooden roller coaster, has also become one of the park’s most recognizable landmarks.
This isn’t the first time Clementon Park has faced closure.
The park abruptly closed following its 2019 season amid financial difficulties. In 2021, the property and its rides were purchased at auction by Indiana Beach Holdings, which reopened Clementon Park later that same year.
That makes the park’s reference to “five memorable years” especially significant. The current operators were able to give Clementon Park a second life beginning in 2021, but that chapter is now coming to an end.
There is, however, still some hope for the historic property.
The owners say they intend to put the park up for sale and are specifically hoping to find someone willing to preserve its legacy.
“We are hopeful that we will find a buyer who shares our love for Clementon Park and will carry its history and legacy forward,” the announcement reads.
At this point, no asking price, potential buyer or timeline for a sale has been announced. The park says additional details will be released as they become available.
For now, Clementon Park’s 2026 season appears to mark the end of its current era.
Whether this becomes the final chapter of the 119-year-old amusement park or the beginning of yet another comeback will depend on who is willing to step forward and purchase one of South Jersey’s most historic amusement properties.
