A Cape May Christmas Recap 2024
The holiday season transforms Cape May, New Jersey, into a scene straight out of a Christmas card.
Known for its Victorian charm and coastal beauty, the town embraces the festive spirit with twinkling lights, joyful events, and an undeniable sense of magic.
It has become a tradition for the Wildwood Video Archive to visit Cape May and film a video showing you how beautiful this time of year is.
As we wandered the streets of Cape May, camera in hand, I set out to capture what makes Christmas here so special for those who can’t make it to the shore.
It is always amazing to see our favorite summer time places decorated with twinkle lights, snowflakes and Santa!

Cape May’s renowned Victorian architecture takes on a new level of beauty during the holidays. Nearly every home and business is adorned with garlands, wreaths, and an abundance of lights.
Our go-to street to check out the Victorians is Columbia Ave. Here you can see some of our favorite places decorated like the Mainstay.
Walking along Washington Street Mall, you get greeted by the glow of illuminated storefronts, each meticulously decorated to evoke the warmth and nostalgia of the season.
Of course, while you’re there you have to stop by a few places to pick up some last-minute Christmas gifts.
Cape May Rotary Park is a must-stop as it houses the city’s main Christmas tree. The city puts a ton of work into making sure every tree in that park is covered with lights.
However, the main feature of Christmas in Cape May is Congress Hall. To say they go all out there is an understatement.
The expression ‘Deck the Halls’ must have been written with the halls of Congress Hall because every inch is decorated.

We visited on the night of their tree-lighting ceremony (though we missed it by 30 minutes)
