New Airshow is Coming to Wildwood
It was announced towards the end of 2024 that the Atlantic City Airshow would be canceled for the 2025 summer season.
The airshow had become a staple of Atlantic City’s summer events for many years, drawing large crowds with its thrilling performances by military jets, stunt pilots, and other aviation experts.
The Greater Atlantic City Chamber revealed the news in a statement issued on December 20th, citing a “strategic pause” for the event.

New Airshow is Coming to Wildwood
“We will use this time to reevaluate the overall operations of the show—reevaluating community engagement, assessing costs, reviewing logistics, and creatively considering what future Atlantic City Airshows could look like,” they said, though they have now indicated that they would like the show to return in 2026.
To fill that void, it looks like the Wildwoods will be getting their own airshow possibly this upcoming September.
The Wildwoods are in talks to bring a bigger and better airshow to the Wildwoods’ beaches from September 5th through 7th this year.
That September weekend used to host Roar at the Shore, which was canceled during the pandemic. Since then, the Wildwoods have been seeking a new event to take over this weekend—something that would be family-friendly and fun for all visitors and guests.

While the lineup hasn’t been officially announced yet, here’s what we know so far:
The Wildwood Airshow, known as “The Wildwoods Thunder Over The Waves Air Show,” will be a free event that can be seen on most of the beach, especially between Seaport Pier and the Wildwoods Convention Center. The middle of the event will be located between Morey’s Mariner and Adventure Pier.
There will be some VIP sections and tickets available at certain locations, such as Seaport Pier, the Convention Center, and the back of Mariner’s Pier.

NEW Airshow Coming to Wildwood
This airshow isn’t a done-deal just yet. They are waiting for the contracts to be finalized but things are looking good.
While we’re not sure which demonstration squadrons will be present, we do know that the Blue Angels and the United States Air Force Thunderbirds won’t be participating, as their schedules are already booked well in advance.
It will be a weekend-long event starting on Friday.
This plan has been years in the making, as Wildwood was initially set to host its first airshow back in 2020. However, the pandemic disrupted those plans, as large gatherings were prohibited.
At the time, the Wildwood Airshow announced that “out of an abundance of caution, the Wildwood Airshow regrettably will cancel the upcoming June 5-7, 2020 airshow in order to reduce the risk of transmitting COVID-19 coronavirus.”
That weekend will not be one of the best weekends to come down to the shore so be sure to book your hotel rooms now.
