For a while now we have been hearing that the Parish of Notre Dame de la Mer had been in talks with BG Capital co-founder/managing partner Joseph Byrne to purchase the old St. Ann Rectory & School.
BG Capital Purchases St. Ann Rectory And School
Located on the full block at 2901 New Jersey Ave (at the interaction of Magnolia and Pacific Aves), the parcel of land was sold for $1.35 million.
“Another New Acquisition! BG has just closed on the acquisition of the former Cape Trinity Catholic School. This property ranges over a full city block with over 1.78 acres of development land.”
While there are no blue prints on what will be built there, a few months ago it was reveled that they were looking to purchase the land and turn it into a mix of condos and townhomes.
BG plans to use all the land on the property for these new homes which means everything on it will be demolished to make room for them.
As you know, a few months ago they had an estate sale on the whole property. This included the rectory and the school. It was BG who allowed the Church to have the sale so that they can sell things off and help their bottom line.
Local historian, Taylor Henry has put together a petition for the old St. Ann’s Rectory can be saved. If you would like more details on that click the link below.
