Boat Tag Moved To Pennsylvania

Boat Tag Moved To Pennsylvania

For the past few weeks we have been teasing that Morey’s Boat Tag had found a new home! Today we are finally able to spill the beans!

Those who don’t know, Morey’s Adventure Pier is going through a massive renovation.

The reconstruction project, which began in late 2022, focuses on the entrance of the park, with upgrades to existing facilities and the creation of a new dining and entertainment district.

To accommodate the new project, 14 additional containers up to 20 feet and 11 additional containers up to 40 feet will be added to the pier.

In order to make room for the project, Morey’s had to remove a few different buildings and attractions.

These buildings included the Kohr’s Brother’s Ice Cream stand and the iconic Boat Tag attraction.

Boat Tag was a much-loved feature at Morey’s pier, which opened in 1986. It gave riders the opportunity to sit inside a boat and aim yellow balls at other guests, who would in turn aim the same yellow balls back. If a target was hit, a large fountain of water would burst into the air.

Unfortunately, in December, it was announced that the ride was up for sale.

At that time the new owners had reached out to tell let us know that it was heading their way but the Wildwood Video Archive had to keep it under wraps until today.

In a Facebook post online, Malacari’s Produce & Deli announced that they have purchased the attraction and that it’s moving to Pennsylvania.

Located at 156-160 Mundy Street, Wilkes-Barre in Pennsylvania, Malacari’s have become a staple of the area providing some of the freshest foods.

Their Facebook message went on to say;

“The Malacari family is happy and excited to announce that we have purchased the famous BOAT TAG game from Morey’s Adventure Pier located on the Wildwood Beach boardwalk! We will be moving the game to our Mountain Top location next to the mini golf course.”

They continued by saying “This game provides family fun for people of all ages! Players will have the option to purchase a bucket of balls and shoot them out of cannons and aim for targets and moving boats! Players can also ride in the boats and shoot at the other players!”

The goal is to have Boat Tag open sometime this Spring!

We wish the Malacari family the best of luck with Boat Tag!
