Today we received some sad news. Boots at the Beachposted on their Facebook page a press release where they announce that they will be cancelling any future events.
We do hope that this event does come back in the future. This year it took place from September 16th through the 18th on Olde New Jersey Avenue.
Below is the press release put out by them.
As a local charitable organization, Anglesea Irish Society has longstanding values incorporated within our mission to support the community of the Wildwoods and Greater Cape May County area. Local events that have helped us to provide support to the community over the years are including but are not limited to our Boots at the Beach Country Music Festival, AOH Irish Fall Festival and our annual Bonfire on the Beach that is put on through a partnership with the Wildwood Jaycees.
Since 2020, our organization experienced constraints as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Those constraints led us to cancel events for public health reasons, such as the Boots at the Beach Country Music Festival and our annual Bonfire on the Beach, which also resulted in our organization operating at a multi-year decrease in charitable funds that helped to support community donations, scholarships and public outreach.
While our organization has made significant strides to recover from the pandemic, the high production costs and demand on our membership to make this year’s festival season a success have led the Anglesea Irish Society to rethink how we operate the Boots at the Beach Country Music Festival. While our charitable nonprofit organization has enjoyed bringing country music to the North Wildwood Entertainment District for the last several years to raise funds to support the communities of Greater Cape May Country, inflated productions costs in a post-pandemic world have also played a large role in the decision we have to make today.
With all things considered, it gives us great sadness to announce that the Boots at the Beach Country Music Festival held in the North Wildwood Entertainment District is hereby cancelled, indefinitely.
