Construction Begins on The Wildwood Boardwalk’s Luxury Hotel: The Wild Resort

Construction Begins on The Wildwood Boardwalk’s Luxury Hotel: The Wild Resort

All summer long, guests have been walking by the big grey building at Glenwood and the boardwalk and reading the giant banner, “Coming Spring 2025.”

The sign promised something exciting, a brand-new resort that would soon rise above the boardwalk.

For months, curiosity grew as beachgoers stopped and stared, wondering when construction would finally begin on what was expected to become one of Wildwood’s most high-end properties.

Spring 2025 came and went and so did summer, but there was no work to be done. This has now changed.

Right after Labor Day weekend, crews were spotted on the roof, marking the start of a nine-month construction push to finally bring the Wildwood Boardwalk’s new luxury boutique hotel to life.

Located at 3000 Boardwalk, the project, officially named The Wild Resort, will stand six stories tall (including the street level) and cover roughly 77,000 square feet.

Once complete, the property will feature around 75 guest rooms, including ten presidential suites with jacuzzis.

The plans also include a rooftop pool, bar, and restaurant designed to give guests sweeping views of the ocean and boardwalk below.

On the ground level, several familiar names will fill the retail spaces, including Starbucks, It’s Sugar, and Little Angelos.

The Wild Resort is expected to open in early summer 2026.

The grand question is, where are we in the progress of the construction?

The Wildwood Video Archive stopped by last week to film what the construction site looked like. You can watch that video at the bottom of this article.

Crews since the end of summer, had been hard at work removing the entirety of the top floor of the building. Since they need to add two more stories to the top, they are having to visit every single beam and concrete structure and review them to see if they need to be reinforced.

While work is being done on reinforcing the beams in the front, at the back of the building new I-beams are being installed horizontally to be able to support the load of the new floors.

The floors below are being completely gutted, including the facade of the building.

While it’s not yet confirmed whether the ground level will undergo a full gut renovation, visible work suggests it might be.

From the Starbucks windows along the boardwalk, temporary support columns can be seen propping up the ceiling and floor above, a clear indication that crews are reinforcing the structure from the bottom up as well.

That said, there is a ton of work that needs to be done in order to get this thing ready in time for next summer.
