Below is the press release from the National Weather Service in Mount Holly about today’s severe storm. This is for the Tri-state.

Damaging winds: We are expecting damaging winds, even in between storms. Please secure all outdoor furniture. Tree damage and power outages are possible. Travel will be difficult. The strongest winds are forecast to occur from late this morning into the afternoon.

Severe Storms: A few rounds of thunderstorms are expected through this afternoon. In addition to also bringing damaging winds, hail and isolated tornadoes will be possible. Please be sure to have multiple ways to receive severe weather warnings.

Tidal flooding: Minor tidal flooding is expected on the northeastern Chesapeake Bay, Delaware Bay, and portions of the Barnegat Bay.

Heavy Rain: Periods of heavy rain will be possible with the rounds of storms. This could lead to localized flooding, especially in areas of poor drainage.
