FIRST LOOK Madison Resorts – Construction Update

For the past two years, you have heard a lot of talk about the Oceanview Motel on this channel.

From trying to save the lobby to keeping the property as a motel, there has been a lot of great support shared amongst Wildwood fans who wanted to keep our island Doo-Wop.

FIRST LOOK Madison Resorts – Construction Update

I am happy to announce that Madison Resorts is just a few weeks away from being open to the public.

What started as a condemned motel which almost was destroyed and removed from our landscape will now be a mid-century motel that keeps Doo-Wop alive all thanks to Dan Alicea.

If you haven’t been paying attention for those two years, Alicea purchased the Oceanview Motel back in 2022 with a vision.

He wanted to take the existing motel, renovate it from top to bottom, and convert it into a top-of-the-line mid-century resort called Madison Resorts.

Alicea knew the importance of keeping the history of the Doo-Wop Motel but also giving it the modern amenities that we all like when on vacation.

What was supposed to be a quick refurbishment of the property turned a bit sideways when it was revealed that the original lobby of the motel was not of sound.

Parts of the lobby roof had collapsed due to rust eating through the I-beams.

Keeping to his word on saving history, Alicea rebuilt the lobby from scratch only altering some of the blast-off roof to accommodate taller vehicles.

If working on one building wasn’t enough work, Madison Resorts expanded. This past December they purchased the Royal Hawaiian just the next block over to become the largest resort in Cape May County.

The Wildwood Video Archive stopped by this past week to tour both buildings and bring you a first look.

To watch the video, scroll down to the bottom of the page.

Officially both of these buildings together make up Madison Resorts but each of them offers something different.

For this article, we will refer the different properties as the Ocean Tower and Beach Tower

First, let’s talk about similarities. Regardless of which tower you are staying in, you will have access to both pools, gyms, restaurants, and other facilities. The main lobby on Rambler will also serve as check-in and check-out for both buildings.

If you are going to the beach and you need towels, umbrellas and chairs, you will just head over to the main pool in the Ocean Tower to check in with the Cabana Service.

On the ground level, both will offer a different cafe to get food.

Both towers offer fantastic views, pools, and amenities but there are differences.

The Beach Tower offers rooms with kitchenettes inside each of the rooms. This is for people who want to go on vacation but would rather do the cooking. This tower will also be dog-friendly and will have a more relaxing pool. And yes, their famous pool is still going to be there. It is just going to get some tender love and care.

The Ocean Tower is more for those who don’t want to cook on their vacation and love live music.

Their pool area will be much like a destination rather than just a pool area.

The main deck will have fire pits, cabanas, large checkers and chess games, and most importantly, live music. Contests for all ages will also be going on daily.

Just at the edge of the deck will be daily live music to keep you relaxing.

This building also offers a one-of-a-kind view of the beach from the top deck.

Imagine waking up with a cup of coffee and watching the sunrise from one of the only top decks in the Wildwoods.

Right now the crews at both towers are working hard to get things ready for the summer season.

On our visit, we checked out one of the rooms, which you can see in the video.

Work is still going on 7 days a week since their soft opening is only a few weeks away.

The Ocean Tower will be opening mid-April while the Beach Tower will be opening in late May.

Below in our video, we break down even more details of Madison Resorts.
