Their official announcement was teased the Sunday night before with a video of the Great White via drone with the message “Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water…🦈.” This led the coaster world into a frenzy trying to guess what was coming to the coaster.

The full announcement came on November 18th at 10am with the message “2025 is bringing two new Millennium Flyer trains to the iconic Great White, delivering a new, smoother, faster rider experience with every twist and drop.”

What We Know About the New Trains

The new coaster trains will feature updated designs, improved ergonomics, and modern safety enhancements, ensuring a smoother and more comfortable ride for both first-time riders and die-hard fans.

While the exact details of the train design are still under wraps, Morey’s Piers promises that these updates will provide a faster, smoother, and even more thrilling experience without losing the nostalgic charm that makes The Great White a summer favorite.

This investment in new coaster trains marks a significant step in keeping the Great White running in peak condition. As one of the longest-standing wooden-Steel hybrid roller coasters in New Jersey, the ride has been delivering thrills since it first opened in 1996.

This ride has seen many upgrades over the year including a re-tracking by Martin & Vleminckx, an upgraded ride control system and a new lighting package introduced this past summer.

A Beloved Wildwood Classic

The Great White is known for its dramatic 110-foot drop, which takes riders on a breathtaking plunge right over the beach.

The coaster then races along its wooden track at speeds of up to 50 miles per hour, offering riders sweeping ocean views as they experience the twists, turns, and airtime that make this coaster an enduring favorite.

The wooden-steel structure and its thrilling seaside location have made it a unique staple of the Wildwood boardwalk experience for nearly three decades.

Morey’s Piers has a long-standing commitment to preserving the heritage of their classic rides while also embracing modern updates to improve safety and ride quality.

The introduction of new coaster trains aligns with their efforts to keep their attractions fresh and exciting for new generations of visitors.

A New Chapter for the 2025 Season

The announcement of the new trains comes as Morey’s Piers prepares for an action-packed 2025 season.

While fans of the Great White will have to wait a few more months to experience the upgrades, anticipation is already building among coaster enthusiasts who are eager to see how the changes will impact the ride.

With its unique combination of nostalgic charm and modern thrill, the Great White remains one of the most iconic attractions on the Wildwood Boardwalk.

Looking Forward

Morey’s Piers has promised to release more details about the design and features of the new coaster trains as we get closer to the start of the 2025 season.

In the meantime, the Great White continues to run with its current trains, allowing fans to enjoy its classic thrills before the exciting new changes roll in.
