Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City is cooking up something big—literally.

As part of a massive $50 million expansion and renovation project coming in 2025, the resort has announced a lineup of new additions, and leading the pack is the opening of LaScala’s Fire, a popular Italian restaurant that’s making its way to the Jersey Shore casino floor.

If you’ve dined at one of LaScala’s locations before—you know the deal.

Think modern Italian cuisine, wood-fired pizzas, homemade pastas, and a classy atmosphere with just the right amount of warmth.

It’s the kind of place where you can go all-in on a big Italian dinner or just grab a cocktail and apps at the bar.

LaScala’s Fire is slated to open in early summer 2025, and they’re landing a prime spot inside Ocean Casino Resort—right next to the new Ocean’s 18 Mini Golf and Bar (more on that below) and across from Villain and Saint.

This will be another big win for the LaScala Restaurant Group, which already has successful locations across South Jersey and the Philly area.

The new restaurant is part of Ocean’s $50 million development initiative, which breaks down into two major areas:

  • $25 million will go toward renovating 500 Blu Rooms and Suites. Expect upgraded interiors, modern touches, and a refreshed hotel stay experience.
  • The other $25 million is being spent on five new dining concepts (including LaScala’s) and one seriously high-tech attraction.

Here’s a quick look at what else is coming:

Ocean’s 18 Mini Golf and Bar

Opening in late summer, this is a two-story, 8,000-square-foot mini-golf and bar venue that’s bringing some Las Vegas flair to the Jersey Shore.

It’s packed with $500,000 in holographic displays, including a 12-foot Great White Shark hologram swimming above the bar. It’ll be family-friendly and open to guests of all ages.

Stephen Starr Restaurants

Yes, Stephen Starr—the big-name Philly restaurateur—is bringing two new concepts to Ocean. Located across from The Park (the resort’s 3-acre outdoor space), one will serve breakfast and lunch with comfort food classics like pigs-in-a-blanket and meatloaf, while the other will focus on steak frites. Over $5 million is being invested in these two spots alone.

LaScala’s Fire

While all the additions are exciting, LaScala’s Fire is shaping up to be a standout.

The brand is known for its polished yet approachable vibe, and Ocean’s central location makes it a perfect fit for both locals and tourists looking for great Italian food without leaving the resort.

With all these upgrades, Ocean Casino Resort is clearly making a major push to stay competitive—and LaScala’s Fire is going to be a big part of that strategy.

We’ll keep an eye out for updates as construction gets underway. Stay tuned for photos, opening dates, and maybe even a sneak peek at the menu!
