Last Call for The Wild Burrito in Wildwood
If you haven’t heard the news yet, The Wild Burrito is serving its last burrito this month, marking the end of an era for many who have come to love its food.
As a beloved part of the local culinary scene, this news is met with a heavy heart by its many fans. The Wildwood Video Archive team made sure to stop by to enjoy one last meal before this iconic spot closes its doors for good.
Nestled at the corner of Spencer and Ocean Ave, The Wild Burrito has been dishing out mouth-watering Mexican cuisine for 13 years.
With its fresh and flavorful burritos, tacos, and avocado fries, it has become a staple for both locals and tourists.
One of the highlights on the menu, and a favorite among regulars, is the “M.O.A.B.” (Mother of All Burritos).
This massive burrito is a delicious combination of chicken, chorizo, bacon, cilantro lime rice, black beans, pico de gallo, pickled jalapeños, cheese, and chipotle ranch, all wrapped up for just $13.99.
It’s the kind of burrito that has kept customers coming back for more.
Ive seen people mow it down, though it is something I could not finish.
This family-run business is not just a restaurant but a place where countless memories have been made.
For 13 years we (mom and I) have been visiting the Wild Burrito. We have had some great conversations over those burritos.
The sad news of its closure was announced on Facebook, where the owner, Joe Carpenter, revealed that the restaurant will close for good on Saturday, September 21st. In a heartfelt message to the community, Carpenter expressed his deep gratitude for the support he has received since the restaurant’s early days in The Crest.

“I have many fond memories from my customers, employees, and vendors. Thank you to the countless customers who have been loyal to us,” Carpenter shared. “It has been a pleasure serving customers from the Wildwood area and from across the globe.”
Carpenter also reflected on the impact of The Wild Burrito on its staff, many of whom started their first jobs at the restaurant. “I’ve had many employees whose first job was here. It was fun to see young kids grow up to be wonderful young adults. Thank you to all of them,” he said in a Facebook post.
As The Wild Burrito prepares to say goodbye, Carpenter made a heartfelt plea to the community to continue supporting local businesses. “Please support our local businesses on the island. I know many of them, and the last two years have been challenging.”
For those wanting to savor The Wild Burrito one last time, the restaurant will be open daily until Monday, September 2nd. Following that date, it will only be open on Fridays and Saturdays, leading up to its final day of operation on Saturday, September 21st.
This is truly the last call for The Wild Burrito, and it’s a farewell is something not to be missed.
