New Jersey Heat Wave Continues

New Jersey Heat Wave Continues

If you have been in New Jersey for the past week, you would know that dates have been running through a massive heat wave.

Since last Thursday most of the state has been seeing temperatures in the mid-90s daily.

For those hoping that today would change, please hope for something else because according to the National Weather Service, it’s here to stay for a bit longer.

Most weather websites and apps have a heat advisory in place today (August 9th) until 8 pm in some parts of the state.

A Heat Advisory is issued when the combination of heat and humidity is expected to make it feel like it is 95 to 99 degrees for two or more consecutive days or 100 to 104 degrees for any length of time.

Weather.com says that with the heat index, we could be seeing temperatures hitting the lower 100s in North Jersey.

The best way to beat the heat will be to come to the shore. The temperatures are always a bit cooler thanks to the ocean breeze.

The good news in all of this is that a cold front is expected to arrive later on tonight. This will bring the end to these crazy hot temperatures.

Please drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned location, stay out of the sun when possible, and check on elderly relatives and neighbors.
