NEW Yugoslavia Balkan Soul Food in North Wildwood
North Wildwood recently welcomed an exciting addition to its culinary landscape with the grand opening of Yugoslavia Balkan Soul Food restaurant.
Nestled at 1700 New York Avenue, this restaurant promises to take diners on a food journey through the Balkans, offering a delightful array of traditional dishes infused with the rich flavors and soulful essence of the region.
This location has been empty for some time but locals would remember this location as the old DeAngelis location before they moved to New Jersey Avenue. (I sure do)
Upon entering the restaurant, guests are immediately immersed in the warm ambiance, which complements the authentic Balkan experience. As diners settle into their seats, they are greeted with a menu that showcases a diverse selection of Balkan delicacies, carefully curated to cater to both connoisseurs of Balkan cuisine and those eager to explore this unique culinary tradition.
The highlight of the menu at Yugoslavia Balkan Soul Food lies in its impressive selection of traditional Balkan dinners, featuring beloved classics such as Musaka and Burek. But the delights don’t end there. The restaurant offers an extensive range of main courses, each bursting with flavors that exemplify the region’s culinary heritage.
One of the restaurant’s signature dishes is the Pijeskavica, a homemade beef and pork mixed patty served with pita bread, ajvar, pinjur, and a burst of flavors that can only be found in the Balkans. For those seeking an extra indulgence, the Sharska Pljeskavica is a must-try, featuring a stuffed patty with cheese and bacon, paired with the perfect blend of accompaniments.

If you prefer bite-sized delights, the Cevapi, Balkan-style homemade beef, and pork mixed links served with pita bread, ajvar, pinjur, and onion, offer a delightful and fulfilling experience.
For sausage lovers, the Sudzukice, made from beef and veal, come accompanied by the delectable spreads and dips that epitomize Balkan cuisine.
For those who appreciate the subtlety of chicken, the Uvijachi offers a tantalizing option, with homemade chicken rolls stuffed with cheese and wrapped in bacon. Meanwhile, the Raznici, homemade skewers available in both chicken and pork variations, present a delightful feast on a plate.
No Balkan feast would be complete without indulging in some comforting and hearty dishes. Guests can savor the Sarma, homemade rolled cabbage leaves stuffed with rice and a mix of ground meat, as well as the Turli tava, a savory stew featuring pork boneless rib meat, potatoes, onions, garlic, tomatoes, eggplant, okra, carrots, and peppers.
For those who prefer lighter fare, the restaurant offers an assortment of fresh and flavorful seafood dishes, including salmon and various cuts of meat like the 60Z Filet and the 120Z Strip, all impeccably grilled and served with the customary pita bread, ajvar, pinjur, and onion.
Besides these meals, they do offer traditional American food for breakfast and lunch including eggs, omelets, sandwiches, and more.
For lunch suggest trying the Kebapi sandwich. The spices and onions on the meat were so good.
