NJ Beach Smoking Ban To Get Signed Wildwood Writer July 20, 2018 Articles, Wildwood Articles 1626 NJ Beach Smoking Ban To Get Signed NJ Beach Smoking Ban To Get Signed On Friday July 20th, New Jersey Governor, Phil Murphy, will be signing a new bill that making smoking on the beach illegal. The bill will outlaw smoking on public beaches through-out New Jersey while also creating smoking areas that makes up 15 percent of a beach. This bill was approved in the New Jersey State Senate (32-1) and the Assembly (66-1) this passed June. If you are caught smoking the fines would be $250 for a first offense, $500 on a second offense and $1,000 for a third offense. This isn’t the first ban put in place for smoking on beaches.
