Detailing the arduous journey of reconstruction plagued by setbacks and legal entanglements, he candidly shared the hurdles that have delayed the reopening.

The Wildwood Video Archive suggests that you read the letter in full which can be found here.

The letter outlines the difficulties encountered with the former contractor, Plaza “Construction,” and its owners, whose conduct hindered progress and directly affected the timely completion of the rebuild.

However, in October 2023, RDM Construction Services was enlisted to correct the issues caused by Plaza. With expectations set for construction to resume in early January 2024.

As construction was able to be underway, it was found that they had to return to the planning board because 36 additional seats on the second floor were not on the initial plans even though it was supposed to be in the original submitted blueprints.

Despite efforts to expedite the process to get on the planning and zoning board, the earliest date they could get for a meeting was on on February 21, 2024.

Due to the delay in getting the approvals, the North Shore will once again not open for Cinco de Mayo, Memorial Day Weekend, Beach Blast, and possibly July 4th, 2024.

As for when the future of the North Shore Bar & Kitchen, this is what he had to say;

“As for the future of North Shore, with now being faced with the reality of losing revenues for half of the 2024 season which will result in losing employees and entertainment once again, I am not in any rush to commit to anything at the moment.”

He continued by saying “I need to take some time to continue to weigh all of the possibilities and opportunities before me to ensure that I make the best decision for my family and for our business. While I have every intention of continuing to see this project through, I first need to fully understand what transpired in the City’s Construction Office before I proceed any further.”

We wish Ryan and his team the best of luck with the North Shore.
