North Wildwood Beach Tent Ban is OVER!
There is great news to those who are looking to visit the North Wildwood beaches for the 4th of July Holiday.
In a post on Facebook, North Wildwood Mayor Patrick Rosenello provided an update on several key projects and events in North Wildwood including the Beach Tent Ban.
The ban was first introduced a few months back due to the limited amount of space on the beach.
This ban, which included four-legged beach tents and cabanas, meant that visitors could only bring smaller umbrellas and small baby tents smaller than 8 feet.
Now that the North Wildwood Emergency Beach Nourishment Dredge Project is completed, the larger tents are allowed.
The Wildwood Video Archive filmed a full video showcasing the new North Wildwood beach. You can watch it at the bottom of this video.
Here’s a detailed look at what else Mayor Rosenello announced
NJDOT Emergency Beach Nourishment Dredge Project Completed
The NJDOT and their contractors have successfully completed the emergency beach nourishment project, pumping over 750,000 cubic yards of sand onto North Wildwood’s beaches.
This significant effort has greatly enhanced our shoreline, and the contractors are currently in the process of demobilizing their equipment. As a result, some beach accessways may have temporary detours, but they are expected to be fully operational within a week.
City departments are now focused on restoring beach amenities such as showers, decking, benches, beach mats, porta-potties, and bike racks. Patience is appreciated as these amenities are put back in place.
While the new sand may cause some natural erosion as it settles, the City will monitor and address any unsafe scarping to ensure beach safety.

Beach Cabanas and Tents: New Regulations
With the beach nourishment project complete, North Wildwood City Council has lifted the previous restrictions on beach tents and cabanas.
Structures up to 10’ by 10’ are now permitted on North Wildwood beaches, while larger structures remain restricted.
NJDOT Back Bay Dredging: Ongoing Work
The NJDOT, along with Mobile Dredging & Video Pipe, Inc., is still working on the back bay dredge project.
Although there have been some delays, efforts are ongoing. For more information, contact [email protected].
Atlantic Avenue Projects: Progress Update
Paving for the two sections of the Atlantic Avenue projects (1st-4th and 6th-8th) is complete. Contractors are now working on line striping the newly paved areas, with completion expected this week.
Gold Star Memorial and Gateway Enhancement: Ongoing Construction
The first phase of the Gold Star Memorial and Gateway Enhancement project is underway. This project aims to upgrade the island’s entrance while honoring veterans who have sacrificed for the United States.
The completion date is yet to be determined, but a dedication ceremony for the Gold Star Families Memorial will be announced once the project is finished.
