North Wildwood Boardwalk Reconstruction Update
It finally feels like spring is knocking on the door at the Jersey Shore. With temperatures climbing into the low 50s today, it marked the first true boardwalk day of the season where winter jackets felt optional instead of mandatory.
After months of bundling up against wind and cold, that small shift says a lot. And as warmer weather inches closer, so does progress on one of North Wildwood’s biggest offseason projects.
If you’ve driven through or walked around North Wildwood this week, you may have noticed something different along the beachfront.
The North Wildwood Boardwalk reconstruction project, specifically the section from 25th Street moving south, appears to be nearing completion.
Thanks to our “seagull” in the sky, better known as our drone, we’re able to get a clear look at just how far construction crews have come.
From above, it looks like the top decking is now fully installed across this stretch. That’s a major milestone, especially considering how extensive this rebuild has been.

This section of the boardwalk was completely ripped down to the sand, including the removal of the old concrete supports.

The project began just a few months ago and was slated for completion in the spring. Judging by the progress visible from the air, crews appear to be right on schedule.
That said, the job is not entirely finished. While the decking looks complete, additional elements are still in progress. Crews are currently constructing ramps at 25th Street near the public restrooms.

Light posts and finishing touches also remain on the checklist.
If progress continues at this pace, North Wildwood should have this section fully ready just in time for the Easter crowds and for what is shaping up to be a busy spring season down the shore.
