This offseason has seen a fountain of construction and new businesses. From new restaurants to new motels, this summer the Wildwoods might look a bit different.
This past week we announced the sale of the Isle of Capri located at 500 Ocean Ave, North Wildwood. That motel will become the Seaport Inn. If you want to read about that click the link below.
Now there is a second motel that has sold. According to public records, 911 Surf Avenue, inNorth Wildwood, has sold for 1.65 Million Dollars.
In doing a quick Google search we find that this is the address for the Chateau Bleu motel.
The Chateau Bleu website hadn’t updated their summer rates for 2022 which might worry folks but nothing to fear here.
According to a Facebook post on the Chateau Bleu’s website, the motel isn’t going anywhere.
In the post, dated February 14th, the owners went on to say that;
“After 16 years of owning Chateau Bleu Motel, Lech and Mary have officially retired. Thank you to all our loyal customers for your patronage.You all have become our dear friends and we will miss seeing you around the pool. Chateau Bleu will continue as a motel for the summer of 2022 under new ownership!”
We wish Lech and Mary a happy retirement and are excited to see what the new owners do with the Chateau Bleu.
A little history on the motel.
The building was built in 1962 in the world-famous”Doo Wop” architecture that the Wildwoods are known for. Some of their Googie details include the heart-shaped swimming pool, the spikes in the lobby entrance, and their sign.
The motel was added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 25, 2004.
Be sure to tune back later for more updates.
