Pork Roll or Taylor Ham
In the Wildwood Boardwalk’s history we used to have a Pork Roll stand on the boardwalk. (Photo to the right). It used to serve up hot Pork Roll, egg and cheese sandwiches pretty much any time of the day.
While discussing pork roll with my friends up in New York City we came to a disagreement over what the delicious meet is called. Some call it Pork Roll and others call it Taylor Ham. While both could be considered correct, which one do you think is correct?
Just a quick little background: Pork Roll is a processed meat created in 1856 by John Taylor and first sold in Trenton, New Jersey. It has became a big breakfast meat in the States of New Jersey, New York, Delaware and parts of Pennsylvania and Maryland.
