Back in October, we broke the newsthat Rita’s Deli & Bakery was put up for sale.
Located at 7609 New Jersey Ave in the Crest, Rita’s Deli & Bakery has been a part of the Sunset Lake scene for some time now. On October 23rd, a listing was placed online (MLS 213940) for Rita’s Deli & Bakery for $1.7 Million.
That listing went on to say;
“Fantastic opportunity to own a Wildwood Crest business and waterfront residence! This Wildwood Crest bay front property offers stunning, unobstructed water views from the second-floor residence and well-established commercial business.”
Now it looks like someone took up that fantastic opportunity.
In a Facebook post late last night, Anna Nikole made the announcement that Rita’s Deli & Bakery has sold.
“Every summer for the past 40 plus years we have had some sort of business in Wildwood. For the past 8 years- it has been the joy of owning Rita’s. We are sad to close this amazing chapter that we loved so much,” Nikole said.
In the post, she doesn’t explain if Rita’s will open as an establishment or will become a private residence.
Nikole went on to thank her customers by saying; “We want to thank each and every one of you for making these years so wonderful. You are not only our customers, but you are also friends. Seeing you every day, getting to know you, meeting your families, and watching them grow, has made this one of the best adventures of our lives.”
We are saddened by the sale but wish Anna and her family the very best! (and hope that it will remain an establishment with amazing sunsets.)
