Organizers note that there is still work to be done at Veterans Park, with ongoing efforts to improve the space and provide additional support for local veterans and their families.
The Story Behind Run to Remember
The Run to Remember began in 2017, created to honor U.S. veterans, particularly those from the Tuscarora Ravens. For many families, the event represents one of the only ways to publicly recognize and remember their loved ones.
A central symbol of the event is a flag originally flown every Memorial Day weekend in North Wildwood. Over time, organizers realized that more needed to be done beyond a single annual tribute. That realization led to the creation of the run.
The event also honors the memory of Patrick Corcoran, whose legacy continues to inspire the mission. Nearly a decade later, Run to Remember has expanded its impact, continuing to support veterans while also contributing to the development of the Veterans Park memorial site.
Sponsorship Opportunities Available
As the event continues to grow, organizers are calling on local businesses and community partners to get involved through sponsorship opportunities for 2026.
Several partnership tiers are available:
- Platinum partners at one thousand dollars receive a featured mention on the “Welcome Home” radio show along with all benefits included in the Gold partnership.
- Gold partners at seven hundred fifty dollars receive four free race registrations and a dedicated social media shoutout.
- Blue partners at five hundred dollars receive event recognition, booth space at the event, inclusion on the event website, and ad placement in the runners packet.
- White partners at one hundred dollars will have their logo included on the event website, event shirts, and in the runners packet.
Organizers say these partnerships are critical in helping expand the event’s reach and ensuring continued support for veterans in the region.
A Community Event With Purpose
The Run to Remember continues to stand out as one of the more impactful local events in the Wildwoods, blending fitness with remembrance. With strong community backing and a clear mission, the event is expected to draw another large turnout in 2026.
