Santa Is Coming to Naval Air Station Wildwood
Forget sleigh bells in the snow. At the Naval Air Station Wildwood (NASW) Aviation Museum, Christmas cheer comes with flip-flops, palm trees, and historic fighter jets.
On Friday, July 25th, NASW invites locals and visitors alike to its annual Christmas in July celebration inside the museum’s festively decorated Hangar #1 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. (Cape May Airport, Lower Township, NJ)
This unique holiday-meets-summer event transforms the historic World War II-era hangar into a tropical winter wonderland, complete with Santa Claus himself.
Santa’s Summer Stopover
Santa will be on-site from 10 AM to 2 PM for meet-and-greets and photo ops. While his reindeer are enjoying some well-earned R&R, his sleigh will still be making an appearance, parked for the day as a static display.
In a fun twist, organizers are calling it the fastest aircraft in the museum, even outpacing NASW’s famed F-14B Tomcat, at least in Christmas spirit.
A Festive Lineup of Activities
Visitors can enjoy a full day of entertainment and activities, including:
- Live music from local favorite Kelsey Brown (12 PM to 4 PM)
- Free face painting for kids and families (11 AM to 3 PM)
- Themed photo opportunities perfect for this year’s holiday card
Guests are encouraged to dress for the occasion, including Hawaiian shirts, Santa hats, and beachy Christmas attire.
History Meets Holiday Fun
While taking in the festivities, guests will also have the chance to view The Longest Yarn, a breathtaking 265-foot wool tapestry that honors the 80th anniversary of D-Day.
Created by hundreds of volunteers from around the globe, this international traveling exhibit will remain on display through Labor Day.

To top it off, NASW has opened Victory Scoops, a brand-new ice cream parlor serving up sweet treats to help visitors cool off after a day of fun.
