Star Lite Diner Bringing Breakfast Tradition Back to North Wildwood
A familiar North Wildwood diner location is getting a new life, and this time, it comes with deep local roots and a return to classic breakfast.
The former Star Diner at 325 West Spruce Avenue, one of the first spots visitors see when entering North Wildwood, is being transformed into the new Star Lite Diner.

Star Lite Diner Coming to North Wildwood, Bringing Back Classic Breakfast Tradition
The building most recently operated as the Marvis Pancake House before sitting vacant for some time. Now, it is set to reopen under new ownership with a strong connection to the island’s past.
Owner George is not new to the local restaurant scene or to North Wildwood itself.
Years ago, his family operated the well-known Lamppost Diner, a staple that became especially popular for its breakfast.
After the Lamppost closed in the early 2000s, the family continued their culinary work at the Pier House in Cape May, where they blended their signature breakfast roots with a more upscale, white tablecloth dinner experience.
That breakfast DNA never left.
Over the years, George continued building his experience, including time working with Jersey Girl and later opening the Olive Branch restaurant in the Villas.

Olive Branch
Located at 1891 Bayshore Road, Olive Branch has become a highly rated Greek restaurant, known for its quality and consistency. But despite that success, the pull back to breakfast and North Wildwood remained strong.
Now, alongside his brother Argy, George is returning to where it all started.
Argy, described as the creative force behind the menu, brings decades of experience to the kitchen as the head chef.
Together, the brothers have been cooking for roughly 30 years, and their approach at Star Lite will center on homemade, from-scratch meals.
That includes a renewed focus on the kind of breakfast that made their family name known in the first place.
Adding to the full-circle moment, their mother, who also helped run the Lamppost Diner during its peak years, will be returning to work at Star Lite as well.
For longtime locals, it represents a true revival of a family-driven diner experience.
The current plan is to open around Mother’s Day weekend, though that timeline is not yet finalized as work continues on signage and menu development.
Once open, Star Lite Diner is expected to operate year-round, with hours set from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
For a location that has seen multiple chapters over the years, this next one may feel the most familiar.
A return to breakfast, a return to family, and a return to what made North Wildwood diners special in the first place.
Welcome back to the island!
