Tara Kitchen in Wildwood Says Goodbye
After nearly four flavorful summers in the Wildwoods, Tara Kitchen has officially closed its doors.
The Moroccan-inspired restaurant, located at 5209 Pacific Avenue—just across from Duffer’s Ice Cream Parlor—shared the news on Facebook in a heartfelt message to the community:

Tara Kitchen in Wildwood Says Goodbye
“Dear Wildwoods Community, Thank you for welcoming us and supporting our restaurant. As our family and business needs have evolved, we have made the decision to close our doors. We are deeply grateful for the memories we’ve shared and the connections we’ve made. Thank you for being part of our journey. With appreciation”
Tara Kitchen first opened in May 2021, filling the space that once housed One Fish, Two Fish.
In a town known for boardwalk pizza and seafood, Tara Kitchen brought something totally unique to the table—warm, bold, and comforting Moroccan flavors served in colorful tagines, with options that catered to meat lovers, vegetarians, and everyone in between.
The Wildwood location was part of a growing family of Tara Kitchens founded by Chef Aneesa Waheed, who has become a familiar face on the Food Network with appearances on Beat Bobby Flay and Guy’s Grocery Games.

Wildwood marked the fourth Tara Kitchen location, joining others in Schenectady, Troy, and Guilderland, New York. According to their website they even have a location in Hyderabad, India
Luckily, this isn’t the end of the road for Tara Kitchen as a whole.
While Wildwood’s chapter is closing, their other locations are still open and serving up the same great Moroccan dishes that fans have come to love.
So if you’re ever up in New York, you can still get your fix of chicken with lentils, shrimp with green olives, lamb with spinach, and more.
You can also find info, recipes, and even spice blends on their website at tarakitchen.com.
It’s always a little sad to lose a restaurant that brought something special to the island. Tara Kitchen wasn’t just a place to eat—it was a place to try something new, share meals with friends and family, and enjoy the rich, home-cooked flavors of a culture not often found in South Jersey.
Wildwood will definitely miss them, but we’re thankful for the good eats, good vibes, and good memories they leave behind.
At this times, we don’t know what is moving into that location. As soon as we find out, we will be sure to let you know.
