Television Show Filming in Wildwood

The Wildwoods are getting ready for their close-up again!

Film crews were spotted throughout the Wildwoods over the weekend as production appears to be underway on a new HGTV series called “Life’s A Beach.”

On Saturday and Sunday, a large production crew could be seen filming at several locations along the Wildwood Boardwalk.

Photos uploaded online show camera operators and production staff filming near at Schellenger Ave and the boardwalk, capturing footage of Morey’s Piers, the Boardwalk and its businesses.

The crew wasn’t just filming B-roll either.

Splash Zone Bar & Grill shared a photo showing employee Hannah being interviewed by the production, writing on Facebook that she was being interviewed for the HGTV show Life’s A Beach. Crews also interviewed vacationers asking them what they love about the boardwalk.

Filming also took place just a few miles south in Diamond Beach.

The Diamond Beach Patrol shared a behind-the-scenes photo showing lifeguard Alick Killian participating in the production, writing, “Lights, Camera, Action, Today in Diamond Beach with Lifeguard Alick Killian!” The post also identified the production as the HGTV series Life’s A Beach.

While HGTV does not appear to have formally announced the new series yet, the Wildwoods aren’t the only beach destination where cameras have been rolling.

In July, Dave’s Outpost in Sunset Beach, North Carolina, shared photos of filming taking place at Sunset Beach Town Park. The business said HGTV was filming a new series called Life’s A Beach that was expected to be released in the future.

Then in August, Beachside Bistro in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina, in the Outer Banks, announced that an HGTV crew had filmed an upcoming episode of Life’s A Beach at the restaurant.

Beachside Bistro said at the time that its episode was expected to air in November, although an official premiere date for the series has not yet been publicly announced by HGTV.

The name Life’s A Beach may also sound familiar to longtime viewers of travel television.

A series with the same title previously aired on the Travel Channel in 2016. That version followed people who traded their traditional lives for new businesses and adventures in beach destinations around the world.

It remains unclear whether the upcoming HGTV production is officially connected to that earlier program or is an entirely new series using the same name.

What is clear, however, is that cameras are currently traveling to beach communities and highlighting the people, businesses and experiences that make each destination unique.

And now, Wildwoods are going to be part of it. I mean, while wouldn’t we? We are the best shore town in the world!
