Friday May 25th

Surfside Pier, Mariner’s Landing Pier and Adventure Pier will be open from 6:00 pm – 12:00 am
Regional Gymnastics Championship
Wildwoods Convention Center. The United States Association of Independent Gymnastics Clubs will hold a regional gymnastics championship featuring competitions on the floor, balance beam, uneven bars and vault. The competitions will be choreographed to music and prizes will be awarded. Exhibition will be held 9:30 a.m. – 9 p.m. on Friday
Unlocking of the Ocean Ceremony
It’s time to get your feet sandy! Come join us to officially start the summer season at 12 noon on the Andrews Avenue beach next to the Wildwoods Convention Center. A large, ornate key will be used to ‘unlock’ the ocean, along with tourism and city officials, guest speakers and more than 300 elementary school children with kites in the air. Wildwoods International Kite Festival
Largest kite festival in North America held on the beach at Rio Grande Avenue in Wildwood and inside the Wildwoods Convention Center. Event begins on Friday at noon with the Unlocking of the Ocean media event outside of the Wildwoods Convention Center. Festivities following include opening of the kite sales tent, a Friday night social via the local kite club and the 9 p.m. illuminated kite fly. FREE to spectators

Wildwoods International Kite Festival

Saturday includes the silent and loud auctions (open to all) and include the flying of large inflatable kites, sport kite demo’s, team flying as well as family games. FREE to spectators

Downtown Wildwood Farmer’s Market Season #5 Kick-off
The Downtown Wildwood Farmer’s Market will kick-off it’s 2018 Season from 8 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.,rain or shine featuring a kick-off ceremony and unveiling of the season’s DOOWW magnet designs, great vendors and more!The market is located at Byrne Plaza, Oak and Pacific Avenues, Wildwood featuring farm fresh fruits, vegetables, flowers, plants, homemade baked goods, honey, wine, guacamole, herbs, nuts, organic tea, jams, jellies, jerky, jewelry, soaps, and handmade non-food items. Memorial Day Parade and Candlelight Vigil
Parade steps off at Wildwood and Atlantic Avenues at 7:30 p.m. and proceeds south to Andrews Avenue and Ocean Avenue, ending at Burk Avenue. A candlelight vigil and ceremony will take place at the Wildwood Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall, an exact half-size black granite replica of the official Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., at sunset. The wall has the 58,913 names of our country’s fallen heroes from the Vietnam War etched on its panels and stretches for 240 feet along the existing sidewalks of Columbus Park. Run to Remember 5K
Please join us this Memorial Day Weekend in North Wildwood to honor our Veterans by participating in a 5K run/walk or 1 mile fun run/walk. Registration begins at 7:45 a.m.; race begins at 9 a.m. at 15th and the beach at the North Wildwood Lifeguard Station. $25 in advance or $30 day of – all proceeds benefit our Veterans. North Wildwood Memorial Day Ceremony
Memorial Day Ceremony at the North Wildwood Veterans Monument, Spruce & New York Avenues,North Wildwood. 10 a.m. Hosted by VFW Post 5941. There will also be a service earlier that morning at 9:30 a.m. at the Hereford Inlet Lighthouse flagpole where the names of the VFW Post 5941 members who have deceased since last Memorial Day will be read and their service honored.
