Wildwood Fire Department Rescues Two Swimmers

Wildwood Fire Department Rescues Two Swimmers

Yesterday a 911 phone call was placed around 3 in the afternoon after two (2) swimmers were pulled out into deeper waters. The incident happened at Young’s Avenue and involved a man and a women who were in their late 20s.

Wildwood Fire Department were first on the scene with two of their men swimming out to the stranded swimmers to keep them afloat. Capt. Ed Schneider and Lt. Steve McGuinn from Wildwood Beach Patrol then joined them to make a joint rescue.

It’s this time of year where some of our beaches are starting to become unguarded waters due to the end of the season. Please, please, please swim near a lifeguard and keep an eye of where you are while in the waters. Rip currents are very, very dangerous.

Below is a video on how to swim out or rip currents. Watch it. One day it can save your life!!
