We have some great news coming out of the Wildwoods today! The Wildwood fireworks are BACK ON!!! You heard that correctly!
According to city officials fireworks will officially kick off on the 4th of July at 10pm.
To make things even better, the officials also said that Friday Night fireworks will be starting on July 10th and run until September 4th (Labor Day Weekend).
There is one big change though. The location that the fireworks will take place will move from Pine Ave to Rio Grande Ave. This is the big plot of beach behind the Wildwoods sign. These fireworks will also take place at 10 p.m.
Why the location change? It all goes back to Phil Murphy’s announcement on Sunday June 14th. It was in this announcement that he allowed fireworks to resume and a promise that if covid-19 numbers were down the size of outdoor gatherings could move from 100 to 500 by July 3rd.
As you may know, the Wildwood fireworks draw crowds by the thousands. To ensure the safely of all those going to view the fireworks, they wanted to move them to a spot where people can spread out.
This location has more space and isn’t located in the middle of the boardwalk. Instead it is located in the middle of the island. This will give more folks the opportunity to be able to watch the fireworks from their houses. (The fireworks can really be seen everywhere)
